No Japão feudal do século XIX, a camponesa Ayumi luta para proteger Ren, o seu grande amor, perseguido por um tirano corrupto, após seu pai, então chefe da aldeia, tê-lo denunciado por cobrança abusiva de impostos na vila. Eles driblam a morte, unem toda uma aldeia, lutam contra samurais e ainda enfrentam o frio e os saqueadores, na perigosa travessia rumo ao Monastério dos Soheis (monges guerreiros), onde buscam refúgio e treinamento para obterem justiça.
Um século depois, Ayumi é Ana, uma recém-formada engenheira florestal, descendente de abastadas gerações de pecuaristas de Valença, Rio de Janeiro, que viaja para a Amazônia para implantar nas terras de sua família uma inovadora técnica agrícola que recuperou as paisagens gastas pela pecuária na sua cidade natal. Ao chegar em Paragominas ela é surpreendida com a descoberta da extração ilegal de madeira da sua fazenda. Ao investigar o crime ambiental Ana reencontra Ren, que nesta vida é Antônio, um advogado astuto e influente. Ele lhe ajuda a investigar e punir os culpados, enquanto seus sentimentos crescentes evidenciam que há um mistério ainda maior entre os dois.

About Branca Duboc Pedrinha
I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1975. I hold degrees in Business Administration from Fluminense Federal University (UFF) and Journalism from FACHA.
I have been working as an SAP MM specialist for approximately 25 years and as an IT Project Manager for the last 7 years. I am grateful for the career that provides my livelihood.
Alongside my professional work, I continue to pursue my dreams, developing and implementing projects in the nonprofit sector, as well as creating works for theater, television, cinema and literature.
I am also a student and member of IBRAPSI – the Brazilian Institute of Psychoanalysis, where I am pursuing the three pillars of psychoanalytic training: theoretical study, personal analysis and clinical supervision.

In 2012, I founded Instituto Brasil Justo (IBJ), a nonprofit organization dedicated to social and environmental initiatives. My work in the Brazilian Amazon strengthened my ties with traditional communities and led to projects selected for funding and sponsorship by Petrobras, the Brazilian Federal Government, Banco do Brasil Foundation, BNDES and the Amazon Fund, between 2013 and 2017.
Episódio Piloto
For over a decade, I have found in writing pleasure, refuge, catharsis, and, above all, a life purpose. I write about the things that touch me deeply: human relationships and their contradictions, the injustices that wound me, and the possibilities for transformation that keep my faith in the world alive. From lived experiences to imagined stories, I seek to awaken empathy, break down prejudices, and invite new perspectives—all while holding fast to love, humor, and hope.
For me, writing means bringing to light what cannot remain invisible. It is about transforming restlessness into stories capable of touching others—and, perhaps, making that act of raising awareness the first step toward real change.
My background in cultural production and in social and socio-environmental projects informs this perspective, which finds expression in theatrical plays, feature films, fictional series, animations, and literary works. Some of these literary works also emerged from collaborations with Paulo, my son, and Flávio, my man.
Episódio Piloto
In 2019, I founded Duboc Teatro & Filmes (Duboc Theater & Films), a company dedicated to the creation and production of theater and audiovisual content.
In 2021, I competed internationally with my series project Between Lives, which won awards at festivals in the United States, Canada, and England.
By 2026, my portfolio includes ten original screenplays.
A notable highlight is Happiness Is Loving, which received public funding and is currently being filmed and produced by André and Luciana of Cran Films, who are bringing the story to life through a beautiful adaptation deeply rooted in the culture and landscapes of the Brazilian Amazon.
